Assistant Fire Chief Karls Paul-Noel is a 25-year veteran of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR). As Assistant Chief of Technical and
Supportive Services, he oversees the Logistical Services, Communications, Training, and Safety Divisions. A highly
experienced veteran fire officer having worked on some of the department's busiest suppression and rescue units,
Assistant Fire Chief Paul-Noel served as a recruit instructor and training captain before heading the South Operations,
the Special Operations, and the Training and Safety Divisions.
He has been an active member of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue's Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team since 1987 and has responded to disasters worldwide, including the earthquakes in Turkey, the Mozambique floods, and numerous hurricanes throughout the Caribbean. Assistant Fire Chief Paul-Noel holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida International University, a Bachelor of Public Administration degree from Barry University, and an Associate degree in Fire Science Technology from Miami Dade College. He is a state-certified firefighter, paramedic, fire service instructor, rescue scuba diver, and marine firefighter. He is also an Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor who serves as an adjunct medical professor at both Miami Dade College and Florida International University. |
