Yvonne Parchment
Associate Professor of Nursing
Yvonne Parchment taught at Teachers’ College in Jamaica where she specialized in early childhood education. She returned to nursing in 1979 and to nursing education in 1994. She’s a Clinical Associate Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Science at Florida International University where she teaches Medical-Surgical Nursing, Patho-physiology, Fundamentals of Nursing, Nursing Care of the Older Adult, Transition to Nursing (RN-BSN), and Leadership. She has conducted research in Prostate Cancer in Blacks: Health Habits, Dehydration in Older Adults. She has contributed various articles to health magazines such as "Prostate Cancer in African American and Caribbean Males: Detriment in Delay" published in the ABNF Journal November/December 2004.

She enjoys dancing and reading. She lives by her favorite quote, "Be proactive: engage and exercise your brain or lose it."
