Ms. Sabrina Salomon is in charge of project NOU KAB at Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (FIAC). The project entails
partly representation of low-income Haitians who are victims of domestic violence, other violent crimes, and human
trafficking; advocating on behalf of the victims before the various agencies in charge of implementing and enforcing
immigration laws within the United States; hosting a monthly radio show in Creole to educate the Haitian community about
domestic violence, and relief available under the law; and encouraging clients to participate in classes that are geared
towards self-empowerment and strengthening the Haitian community as a whole.
Ms. Salomon spearheaded the Haitian Domestic Violence Initiative, a coalition of various service providers with the purpose of diminishing incidents of abuse within the Haitian community through education and advocacy. Ms. Salomon is the co-chair of the Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Council of Miami Dade County. She is the recipient of the 2006 Marie Claire Heureuse Justice Award. Ms. Salomon conducts educational presentations and trainings nationally in the areas of immigration law, victim rights, domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Ms. Salomon is a former Equal Justice Works Fellow. She received her B.S. in Accounting from Barry University in Miami, Florida, and her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, where she graduated cum laude. |
