Gracelle Toussaint, APRN-BC
Gracelle Toussaint hails from Port-de-Paix, Haiti. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a licensure as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Florida International University. She is a nationally board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (APRN-BC) by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC)and is currently eligible for national certification as a Urologic Nurse Practitioner (CUNP) by The Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA). She is experienced as a field nurse as well as an administrative nurse. During her nursing career she has worked in different specialties ranging from Orthopedics, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, and Oncology and has even practiced as a Home Health nurse and Wound Care Nurse Practitioner. She has experience in the administrative arena of nursing having served as Charge Nurse during her tenure at Jackson Memorial Hospital as well as occupying the position of Director of Nursing (DON) at Specialized Nursing Services Home Health Agency. She currently works in private practice with a group of five urologists at the Urology Center of South Florida in Kendall.

Ms. Toussaint holds the distinction of having been the first urology nurse practitioner at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She worked independently at the Batchelor Urology Center and was responsible for providing care to patients with urological challenges in an outpatient setting. Trained by members of the urology faculty from the University of Miami she routinely participated in challenging cases conferences and presentations, performed prostate biopsies, cystoscopies, worked closely with Dr. Charles Lynne at the male Infertility Clinic and at the Miami Project with spinal cord injuries patients where she gained experience in Vibratory Stimulation (VS) and Electroejaculation (EEJ) techniques used in the treatment of ejaculatory dysfunction. She also worked in collaboration with the residents as well as the attending physicians from the University of Miami both at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Clinics.

She is the recipient of many nursing awards including Nurse of the Year, Surgical Division at Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2003, Preceptor of the Year West Wing Ten from Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2000 and 2001. She is the author of the "West Wing Ten Preceptor Guide" which was used by the surgical oncology unit to train new nurses to the unit.

She’s active in her community and is a strong advocate of patients’ rights. She is a member of SUNA (Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates), sits on the Advisory Board of HALO (Haitian American Leadership Organization) and is also a Board Member of Friends of PROFAMIL. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
